Sai Island
“Sai Island” is a natural riverside serene, beautiful destination for Picnics ,Holidays, Rest and Entertainment. It is situated in the river Chapora between Colvale and Camurlim in North Goa. It falls under Tuem village in Pernem Taluka. It has over 1,00,000 sq. mtrs. area covered with coconut plantation and paddy field. You can find peacocks, goose cranes and other birds habitat on this Island.The development of ‘eco-tourism’ on this island is a nature’s beacon to make this island as a ‘Heaven on Earth’.
Sai Island is a convenient place for tourists . Mopa Airport is just 14 kms away from the Island. The Arambol beach, Chapora beach, Calangute beach are within a range of 10 kms. The island is 22 kms away from Panjim by road and 12 nautical miles by sea from Captain of Ports Jetty Panjim.
The Island can be approached from all the four directions in Chapora river. Tourist can go to the Island from Sateri Temple, Amre Vado, Dhargal; Mahakhajan ferry jetty, Colvale ferry jetty, Tuem and Camurlim ferry jetty. All these places are in the range of within 2 kms. from the island. Tourist can also come from Siolim, Agarwado and Chapora jetties.
Presently, Sai Island Offers Picnic on Island package, Adventure Tent Camping, Boating and Kayaking packages.
